You'll need to set the right variables and know the precise quirks of the software to turn those "decent photos" into amazing images.
To help you take great photos with the Honor 7C, here is a list of camera tips and tricks.
Normally, phones come with a nifty shortcut to launch the camera really quickly. In most cases, the power button acts as a small shortcut. However, with the Honor 7C things are a bit different.
Not only does it launch the camera app, but it also clicks on the image at the same time. So the next time you see a beautiful scenery, don't wait to unlock the phone and then open the camera app. Instead, press the volume button twice, and that's it!
To access this mode, open Settings, scroll down and select Ultra snapshot. Once inside, select the first option. When launching the camera via this mode, a steady pair of hands is always useful.
By default, the Honor 7C captures images by pressing the shutter button. Well, that's how it works on the majority of phones. However, there is a hidden mode that automatically captures the image as soon as the phone detects a smile on your subject's face.
To activate this mode, swipe right on the camera interface and enable the Capture smiles switch.
This mode is handy if you want to take selfies with the rear camera. So instead of looking for the shutter, all you have to do is smile and the phone will do the rest of the work. As they say, a smile is the best weapon you can have.
Likewise, there is another alternative to the trigger. Aptly named as an audio control, this only captures an image when the noise reaches a certain decibel point. Not to be used at parties, however.
Here is the thing about Wide Aperture mode or Portrait mode of Honor 7C. Apart from adjusting the background blur in real time, you can also adjust it later from the gallery.
To do this, head over to the Gallery app, open said image, and tap the shutter icon at the top. Once done, touch the focus object and drag the slider to select the blur level. Swiping left increases the blur, while swiping right decreases it.
When you have a blur you like, tap the tick icon. That's it!
Cool tip: The image captured with Wide aperture mode is marked with a shutter icon. What's special about Good Food Mode is that it makes food more vivid by emphasizing its color, not to mention making it more appealing.
By default, Good Food Mode is not included in the phone, you will need to install it from the built-in application suite.
Swipe left to show the Modes window. Tap the More icon and install Good Food mode. Once it's installed, focus on the food and click.
Cool tip: Good food also works surprisingly well in macro photography.Another great feature of Auto mode is that it allows you to meter and focus on different points in the same image. In other words, it allows you to separate the exposure point and the focal point, resulting in a balanced composition. This means you won't end up with overexposed or blurry images.
To separate the focal point and exposure point, tap where you want the camera to focus. Once locked, drag the exposure button and drop it where you want.
The golden ratio is one of the most important principles in photography. It helps you achieve a strong and balanced composition. The Honor 7C not only allows you to have the golden ratio (Fibonacci spiral), but also to customize it. You can choose to have the spiral up or down.
All you have to do is go to Settings> Support Grid and select the one you prefer.
Unlike other phones, the phone just doesn't come with the conventional grid, it actually shows the curve so you can place your primary focus object within the loop of the spiral.
Beyond clicking images, the Honor 7C camera is also capable of scanning your documents. Switch to document scanning mode and take a snapshot of the document. The camera will do the rest of the processing behind the scenes, like adjusting the exposure and reshaping it into a flat image.
Moreover, you can also export the image as a PDF file. Just open the image in the gallery, tap the three-dot menu, and print or export to PDF.
Watermarks have recently become a rage. While some phones are limited to the "Shot on" watermark image, Honor has included a host of images related to location, weather, etc.
More like geo-stickers than watermarks, you can access them through the Modes menu. Once you choose it, just tap on the three-dot menu at the bottom and you will be presented with the different categories. Select one and switch between different images/stickers by pressing the arrow button.
These were some of the Honor 7C camera tips and tricks. As you explore the camera, be sure to check out the front shooter selfie flash or experiment with the built-in filters.
