You don't have to explore the treasure yourself. We've done the work for you. We bring you the 9 best tips and tricks for Pinterest boards.
Note: I took the screenshots with an Android device. The steps are almost the same for web and iPhone, unless otherwise specified. When you create a table, you will be asked to name it. You can always change its name later. Board names are important because they help distinguish between different boards. You can also add a table description to further simplify the identification process.
To change the name of the board, open the board and tap the pencil icon. On the Edit Table screen, enter a new name and description for your table.
Pinterest has a cool feature for boards that limits its visibility to the creator only. These boards are called secret boards and are not publicly visible. All pins inside this board are also private. They are apparent to whoever created it and to any partner or collaborator the creator may invite.
There are two ways to create a secret board. First, when you create a board, you will have the option to make it secret. Second, open the table and press the edit (pencil) icon. Here, enable the toggle for Keep board secret.
Sometimes letting others add pins to your boards is fun. Sometimes it could also be part of a social media job. Either way, Pinterest lets you add collaborators to your boards. Collaborators can save and view Pins on the shared board.
To add a collaborator, open the board and tap the Add icon for mobile apps. Then tap Add Collaborators. On the website, click the Collaborator icon and add collaborators.
You can further organize your pins into various sections under a board. All pins will be visible below the main board, but if you go to the sections you will have categorized pins.
Suppose you have a recipe board, you can divide it into two sections – Veg and Non-Veg. Similarly, if there is a DIY board, it may have sections like clothes, home, garden, etc.
To create a section, go to the table and tap on Add mobile apps section.
On the website, click the Add icon and select Add Section from the menu.
One of the things I love about Pinterest is that you can find a lot of similar content. Whether pins or boards. Pinterest has a feature where you can find related boards.
To find related boards on the mobile app, long press on the board. You will get several options, swipe to the related Table icon. Looks like a light bulb.
Pinterest lets you share boards inside and outside of Pinterest using links. You can send the link on WhatsApp or any other application.
To share a board on mobile apps, navigate to the Saved tab where all your boards are present. Then press and hold the board and swipe to the Share icon. For the website, click the Share icon.
If you don't like the usual grid mode, Pinterest offers two other modes for displaying boards. You can use List or Large mode.
To change modes, tap (mobile apps) or click (PC) on the modes at the top of the tables.
The native way of sorting arrays is to keep the most recently modified on top. Pinterest lets you choose from Alphabetical, Newest, Oldest, etc.
To sort the table, tap or click the Sort icon and select the preferred mode. On the website, you can also drag and drop tables to rearrange them.
If you delete a board, all pins will also be deleted. Now, if this is a drastic step, you can use the Archive option. Archiving a board will hide it from your profile and you will not receive recommendations based on it.
To archive, open the board and tap/click the edit icon. Next, select Archive Board. If you change your mind later or want to use it again, follow our guide on how to unarchive the board.
If for some reason you still want to delete a board, download the pins first, then delete it.
As you have seen, Pinterest boards are powerful. They are not just a collection of pins. So sit down, open Pinterest, organize your pins, and take it to the next level with these tips and tricks.
