If you prefer using Mi Browser over Chrome, it seems like luck is on your side again.
In this article, we will share 15 tips and tricks to get the most out of Mi Browser. Let's start.
When using Mi Browser, when you swipe from the right or left edge of the screen while browsing a web page, it takes you back and forward respectively. It's a cool feature, and people have been asking for it in Chrome too. However, some people don't like it because accidental swipes can ruin your efforts. Especially when filling out forms.
Luckily, Mi Browser lets you customize these gestures so you can switch between tabs instead. So swiping from the edges will take you to a different tab.
To change it, tap the three-bar icon at the bottom, then tap Settings. Then tap Swipe from edge and select Switch tab.
Instead of opening the tab switcher screen to close tabs, you can close them directly from the home screen. To do this, press and hold the tab switcher icon in the bottom bar. This will reveal a delete icon. Now, without releasing your finger, swipe up towards the delete icon. The current tab will close immediately.
The usual way to open a new tab is a cumbersome task as you have to tap the tab switcher icon and then the new icon. You can long press the Mi Browser home icon to quickly open a new tab.
When you need to search for something or open a web page, you need to tap on the address bar first and then power up the keyboard letters at the bottom. For large-screen phones, reaching the search bar is not comfortable, and the overall process requires you to move your fingers up and down.
All of this can be avoided by tapping on the three-bar icon, which will directly open the keyboard with the search bar selected.
When you rush scroll through a web page, you will see a small icon present on the right edge of the screen. Hold and drag to scroll quickly.
Mi Browser supports search engines like Bing, Google, and Yahoo. To instantly switch to a different search engine from the home screen itself, tap the globe icon in the search bar. Then select a search engine of your choice.
Apart from being garish, the stream or home screen of Mi Browser is data heavy. Although there is no direct way to disable it, you can disable it by changing the start page to a custom page.
To do this, tap the three-bar icon at the bottom, then tap Settings. Then go to Advanced followed by Set Start Page. Here, change it to a webpage of your choice.

Mi Browser offers the possibility to activate the reading mode in two places:the search bar and the bottom bar. To schedule reading mode, go to Mi Browser Settings> Reading Mode. Here, enable the toggle for Schedule and adjust it to your preference.
