Facebook launched two new models of video call devices. At the same time, for the first time, the company brought a portable version of the device. Facebook authorities said so in an announcement on Tuesday, September 21.
According to a report in Indian tech media Gazette Now, Facebook's video calling device is called Portal. The largest social network in the world is experimenting to improve it.
Facebook has not officially said anything about the demand for the portal in the market or the quantity sold. However, a company spokesperson said the portal's sales increased during the Corona outbreak. As many companies have launched the "home office", workers are working from home. As a result, sales of the video calling device have increased, he said.
Facebook launched for the first time their device called 'Portal' in 2016. It has a type of camera that can follow the user around a room. That is, if a user makes a video call and walks away from the front, the camera will follow them and walk away. The user will always be within range of the camera when not outside the relevant room.
The user has to spend 199 to buy a new portable device called “Portal Go”. And the widescreen portal plus can be purchased for 349. Both devices will go on sale on October 19.
Portal + meanwhile has a long touch screen with a resolution of 15 inches 1920 x 1080 pixels. There are also cameras, microphones and speakers.
As I said before , there are two models in the portal. The Portal is a desktop calendar-like device with a 10-inch touchscreen, front-facing camera, microphone, and speakers. Its screen resolution is 1280 x 600 pixels.
Both devices have Amazon Alexa Voice Assistant built in, so you can do a lot with voice commands. Its AI camera understands the movements of the person during the video call and adjusts the frame accordingly. There is also Noise Minimizer and Messenger video filters/stickers and frames. Additional applications can also be installed on it.
