The Facebook-Like Box, also known as the Facebook Fan Box, has become a must-have for many websites. Facebook recently replaced this widget with the new Facebook Page plugin. In this article, we will show you how to add the Facebook Page plugin in WordPress.
Note: Users who have already implemented the old box as a "fan" or "fan box" on their WordPress sites will be automatically moved to the new page plugin.
The Facebook Page plugin is the replacement for what was previously known as the Facebook Like Box. It allowed you to promote your Facebook page on your website. The new Facebook page plugin does the exact same thing.
It has a new and improved look that now also shows your Facebook cover photo. It comes with two buttons. Users can like your page, and they can also share it. You have the option to show users which friends have liked your page. You can also display recent posts from your Facebook page.

First you need to visit the Facebook Plugin website. You will find the options to configure the appearance of your embedded Facebook page.
Simply provide the URL of your Facebook page. Next, you will need to enter the width and height of the box. Alternatively, you can leave it blank and Facebook will try to adjust it automatically.
You can display your cover photo, posts and friends faces on the page plugin. Once you're happy with how it looks, click the Get Code button to continue.
Facebook will now show you two code snippets. Copy the first code snippet and paste it into your theme or child theme header.php file just after the label.
Then copy the second code snippet and paste it where you want to display the box as. You can also paste this code snippet into a text widget by going to Appearance »Widgets .
