Considering Facebook's huge user base, this is crucial to any site's social media strategy. In this article, we will show you how to add the Facebook author meta tag in WordPress.
Once you add the Facebook author tag to your site, it will display your name with a link to your profile every time your article is shared.
This is great for both single author blogs and multi-author blogs as it gives your personal brand more exposure.
There are several ways to add the Facebook Author tag to your site. We will show you both the plugin method and the code method to add the Facebook Author meta tag to your WordPress site.

If you're using Yoast's WordPress SEO plugin, then you're in luck because it has support for Facebook's open graph metadata.
You just need to visit SEO »Social page in your WordPress admin and make sure the box next to the 'Add Open Graph metadata' option is checked.
The next step is to add your Facebook ID to your WordPress account. Simply visit Users »Your Profile page and enter your Facebook profile URL and click the Save Changes button to store your settings.
That's it, WordPress SEO will now automatically insert the Facebook author tag or post by tag when you publish an article. WordPress SEO also allows you to easily add a page title and description for Facebook, and you can even explicitly set the Facebook thumbnail for your posts.
Since we already use the Yoast SEO plugin on our site, it made sense for us to use the method above. However, if you want to add a Facebook author meta tag to your site without a plugin, simply add the following code to your site section.
Be sure to replace the links above with your site's Facebook page link and your personal profile link.
