At just Rs. 9,999 (US$150), you get an all-metal casing with a premium finish, a fingerprint sensor, a decent camera, and great battery life. So today, we are going to discover the top 5 Redmi Note 3 tips and tricks you should not miss.
The very first trick I like about the Redmi Note 3 is the ability to disable the capacitive touch buttons. These buttons can cause a lot of problems when playing a game on your phone and an accidental touch on any of these buttons can make you last in a race. Some of the games come with a feature that automatically pauses the game, but there are some that you play online and the seconds delay can cost you a lot of money (game money, of course).
To fix this problem, there is a provision in the Redmi Note 3 using which you can disable the capacitive touch buttons while playing a game. To disable them, you need to open the notification panel and access the toggles notification. Here, look for the Button option and activate it. You can now play any game without worrying about navigation buttons. As these buttons will be disabled, pressing them will not interfere in-game. Once you are done, you can enable it again from the notification drawer. Simple but effective trick for all players.
The next thing to check is the ability to lock apps using fingerprint and this feature was added in the latest version of MIUI i.e. 7.2.2 and above. This update is rolling out in batches, so don't worry if you haven't received it yet. The option is located in the Security app and here you need to tap on the shield icon in the upper left corner.
Once you have confirmed your password, you can select the apps you want to lock using the fingerprint. We have already made a detailed video guide on how the feature works for you to check out.
The third thing to check is the app drawer in the default Mi launcher, called Mi Space. The feature is only available with some of the themes and Android N and Marshmallow by Xeymoire are a few that have this feature.
After downloading the theme and applying it on Mi Launcher, you just need to swipe down with two fingers. This will take you to the Mi Space which will have an app drawer. The app drawer is very basic and lacks fancy features like app search, icon grouping, etc. There are a few bugs in the theme, but it's a good start. If you want to go back to the default, just swipe up with two fingers.
The 4 th feature is one-handed mode which gives you the option to resize the screen to 4.5, 4 and 3.5 inches to easily work with one hand. The option is under Advanced settings and here you can choose the screen size you want.
Once enabled, you can use the hotkey to switch to one-handed mode. To activate it, just swipe from the home button to the recent or back button to minimize the screen to the respective edge of the screen. To return to the stretched screen, repeat the gesture. The best part about one-handed mode on the Redmi Note 3 is that one can select the desired screen size, which in my opinion is one of the best customization options for easy accessibility. /P>
Last but not least, the 5 th The feature you need to check out is the Kids mode which makes your phone child friendly and only gives access to the apps you want your kids to play while disabling other things on the phone. Deactivating child mode requires your password or fingerprint and is therefore secure. The option is in the settings where you can select the app you want to enable in kids mode.
Kids Mode is very secure and not only it can be used for kids but also with your family and friends when you want them to have access to some of the apps and prevent them from using Gallery, Dialer, Messaging and al.
