The Mi Band 4 is the first iteration to come with a colored screen, and so it makes sense that you'll experiment with different watch faces. Unlike its predecessors, there are now hordes of dials you can play with.
While the fitness tracker gives you the option to switch between 4-5 faces, the Mi Fit app opens a whole new door.
To change the watch face, scroll down to More> Band View on your band and select one of the many options.
However, if you are not satisfied with those of your phone, open the Mi Fit app and go to the Profile section.
Next, select the Mi Band 4 card and tap on the Band Display option, and prepare to be dazzled by dozens of faces. From simple neon-colored dials to cool gaming-inspired faces, you get them all.
All you have to do is tap on any of the faces you want and sync it to the party. Say hello to new watch faces.
The Mi Band 4 can get really bright with up to 400 nits of peak brightness. Although the screen gets a lot of use in bright light, it has a significant impact on battery life. More importantly, it could disrupt your nighttime sleep. Fortunately, there is an option to adjust the display named Night Mode.
To activate it, open the Mi Fit app and go to Profile> Mi Band 4> Night mode. You can activate this function after sunset. Alternatively, you can also schedule a time according to your needs.
The Mi Band 4 also comes with a cool feature that lets you automatically track your heart rate. And that's not the end of the story. You can also set the detection method and detection frequency.
To activate this feature, go to the bracelet settings and tap Heart rate detection> Detection method. Although the Mi Band 4 gives you three options, the best choice is to go for the third one.
With it, you will not only be able to track your heart rate during the day, but also collect accurate sleep data at night. However, note that these are power-intensive processes and will negatively impact the battery life of your fitness tracker.
Do you want app notifications to show on your fitness tracker? Or would you rather pause all alerts? Whichever you choose, the good news is that you can customize them to your preference.
To do this, go to Settings> App alerts and turn on the switch to allow notifications. Next, tap the small Manage Apps icon at the bottom to select app names from the list as you need.
At the same time, enable the switch to "Receive only when screen is off" when you want to further refine the experience. Or, if you're someone who can do without all the annoying notifications, turn the switch off.
They say there are three kinds of people in this world. Some need a helping hand with everything. Some are proactive while others need a reminder for just about everything. If you belong to the latter category, the Idle Alert function is designed especially for you.
This one gives your hand a slight buzz when it senses inactivity for more than an hour. Moreover, you can also select the vibration mode according to your preference. Additionally, you can also set a start time and an end time that disables this feature during the stipulated time.
You can find this setting in Band Settings under Inactivity Alerts.
You can also make sure no one misuses your fitness tracker when it's not in use. Yes, you read that right. Now you can set a 4-digit password to lock the bracelet.
Although this is a Labs feature, it works great and starts right when you take the watch off.
By default, Mi Band 4 comes with functions like Status, Workout, Notification, etc. And the good news is that you can rearrange the screens according to your preferences.
To do this, go to Settings> Display settings. Now long press and drag the strips. Simple, see.
