Samsung was already a good player in multitasking even before the multi-window feature was introduced in Android Nougat. So when it comes to multitasking, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ play the game a little differently.
Besides the now standard multi-window feature, this phone will let you open an app on top of another app. Called Pop-up View, all you have to do is swipe diagonally from the corner of the screen, and the currently open app will slide into a small window. At the same time, you can work on your other applications.
To enable this cool feature, go to Settings> Advanced Features> Multi-Window and toggle the switch for pop-up display action.
Cool tip: Now you can reply to a message directly, without opening the messaging app. A simple swipe down on the notification will open the messaging app.The Galaxy S9 and S9+ pack a lot of features, including cool Edge panels. These panels are extremely useful for speeding things up.
Although the default version has a number of panels, you can remove some of them so that the elements you need most are accessible in a jiffy. To customize the panels to your preference, swipe in from the edge of the screen and tap the Settings icon in the right corner.
Once inside, you can check off the signs you no longer need. But, if you want to take full advantage of these panels, you can also download some of them.
To do this, press the Download button in the upper right corner, choose the panel and press the download icon.
The Download Booster that first appeared on the Galaxy Alpha has also made its way to the Galaxy S9. This convenient mode combines both Wi-Fi and cellular data to speed up the download process.
All you have to do is go to Connections> More connection settings and enable the download button. However, if you have a capped data plan, keep an eye on data usage.

So the next time you're watching movies or videos and need to do a quick check in between, you won't have to change the orientation of your phone. To enable this feature, go to Settings> Display> Home screen and turn off Portrait mode only.
Note :This mode would only work if Samsung Experience Home is the default launcher. With the new Galaxy S9 and S9+, you can customize Wi-Fi settings to your liking. However, my favorite feature is the option that automatically enables Wi-Fi in places you visit frequently. Cool, right?
To enable it, long press the Wi-Fi button and tap the Advanced option in the top right corner. Once done, enable the Enable Wi-Fi automatically option.
As I mentioned above, the Edge panel contains a plethora of handy options. One of these options is Smart Select. This feature allows you to create a cool GIF from any of the videos playing on your phone screen.
All you have to do is drag the Edge panel, tap on the Animation option and tap on the Record button. Once your favorite clip is playing, pressing Stop will do the trick. Now save the GIF and that's it! As we said ‘just a few taps’.
Android Oreo on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ gives you the freedom to manage your phone's notifications like a boss. While Android Nougat let you block or mute an app notification, Android O goes all the way and lets you snooze notifications.
The good thing is that it doesn't take much to enable these settings. All you have to do is slowly swipe the notification until you see the two options for settings and snooze. Hit the Snooze icon, select the apt option and voila!
Additionally, you can even completely disable an app notification or choose to turn off the new notification badge. How? 'Or' What? A click on the Settings icon will present you with all the options.
Other than that, lock screen notifications can be made seamless, thanks to the new Android Oreo. Head to Lock screen &security> Notification and slide the Transparency slider to High.
Last year, Samsung removed the hardware navigation buttons from its flagship devices and replaced them with an on-screen navigation bar. The good thing about this navigation bar is that it is much better than the Google Pixel 2.
Luckily, the good things don't stop there. This navigation bar is highly customizable. From changing the background color to changing the button layout, you can do it all.
To customize your Galaxy S9's navigation bar, go to Settings> Display> Navigation bar and make the changes.
Cool tip :You can also choose to keep the navigation bar hidden, and if you need to, a long press on the small button on the left side of the navigation bar will do the trick. The Galaxy S9 and S9+ deliver a superior sound experience, thanks to stereo speakers paired with Dolby Atmos. However, the feature is disabled by default. To turn it on, go to Sounds and Haptics Settings> Sound Quality and Effects and turn on the Dolby Atmos switch.
Additionally, you can play around with the equalizer settings. The Galaxy S9 gives you the flexibility to choose the sound quality and effects you prefer. You can get more out of these tools if you're connected through a headset.
Here you can select one of the modes – UHQ Upscaler, Surround or Tube Amplifier Pro – to enjoy a clear and rich musical experience.

However, wouldn't it be great to take this experience a notch higher? Well, it is possible and it is in the form of the video enhancer tool.
Tucked away under Advanced Settings, this nifty tool makes videos look richer and brighter. However, this does not necessarily mean that it will convert low resolution video to HD video.
App Pair was a feature that debuted on the Samsung Galaxy Note8 and has now made its way to the Galaxy S9. As you may already know, it lets you open two of your favorite apps in split-screen mode.
Interestingly, once you pair two apps, they become a permanent fixture on the Edge screen. All you have to do is tap on Create app pair on Edge settings and choose apps, and the shortcut will be created.
This is how you can get the most out of your Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+. While trying these tricks, be sure to explore the different screen resolutions (HD+, FHD+, and WQHD+) and Always On Display layouts.
As we say every day, all it takes is a little exploration to have a great smartphone experience.
