TikTok's algorithms can be very discerning about the types of videos you want to see in your For You feed. But when that doesn't work, you may find yourself dealing with a constant stream of the type of video you really don't want to deal with.
I'm not just talking about something blatant, like, say, political, religious, or social statements that you might think are completely contrary to your beliefs. I'm also referring to videos that you might just find boring, like a type of music you don't like, or a type of humor you don't like. For example, for some reason, I suddenly found myself browsing through a bunch of videos of so-called fortune tellers offering advice to their commentators. I really didn't need to see them.
So what can you do?
Well, it turns out you can actually "unlike" TikTok videos — or, at least, you can tell TikTok you're not interested in them, and so (hopefully- le) change the algorithm to not show you other videos like this.
Here's how:
And it will hopefully be that. You can also, by the way, long press on the live videos you don't like; in this case, you will immediately have the choice to say that you are not interested or to report the video.
