Are you a true fan of the iPhone? Then you may also be looking forward to what the inventors of the smartphone come up with this year. As usual, every year also brings a new series of iPhones, and Apple is expected to present the successors to the iPhone 12 series in the first week of September, which came on the market with some delay late in 2020. The new iPhones are expected to hit the shops in the third week of September, but what do we actually know about these new phones?
As usual, Apple keeps it exciting and we have to make do with persistent rumors until the new iPhone series is finally presented. And there are plenty of them, but what is perhaps the least certain is what the new series will be called. You would expect the iPhone 13 after the iPhone 12, but the question is whether the new devices will differ enough from their predecessors (which are less than a year old) to actually be presented as a new generation. That is why we also take seriously into account that the new smartphones may be given the name iPhone 12S. With the iPhone 12 series, there was a Pro, Pro Max and Mini variant in addition to the standard device. The series that we call iPhone 13 for the sake of convenience will most likely also contain a Pro and a Pro Max, but whether there will be a Mini is still the question. The iPhone 12 Mini did not sell very well.
If we take the persistent rumors seriously, and there is often a large kernel of truth, then the new series will not differ too much from the iPhone 12 series in terms of appearance. The screen sizes remain the same, but the notch at the top of the screen would become a lot narrower, leaving more screen on balance. The Pro and Pro Max may get an Always-On Display for the first time, which has been used by Samsung and LG for a long time, with a high refresh rate of 120Hz. The chipset that will power the devices will probably be renewed for all devices compared to the iPhone 12. The fingerprint scanner may be located under the screen.
Apple is expected to make improvements to shooting and filming with the iPhone 13 series. It is reported that the device's camera will feature an improved ultra-wide-angle lens, the camera app will get a new "Cinematic Video function" for portrait mode, an artificial intelligence-based filtering system will be added, and higher recording quality will be enabled in Apple's ProRes format for the Pro models of the new iPhone series.
So it remains exciting for a while, also what exactly will come of the predictions. But you can always rely on the iPhone that it will be a quality product.
