In-game rewards are back. The awards show/gaming conference/concert hosted by Geoff Keighley will feature a few hours of performances (including Sting will perform), game reveals (one of which is over two years in the making), and almost definitely, some new memes. There's been very little teasing about what we'll see on stage, but don't take that as an indication that this might be a quiet show.
A few years ago, this is where the Xbox Series X debut came as an unexpected surprise. I wouldn't expect any game console announcements for this year's show. What you can expect (even if you'd rather avoid) are metaverse events that aim to give you a more immersive way to experience The Game Awards. Speaking of current issues, Geoff Keighley said The Game Awards will not feature NFTs and Activision Blizzard will have no role in the show beyond its nominated titles.
The Game Awards will air live on Thursday, December 9 at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT / 1 a.m. GMT. It's late for our friends in Europe, but if you're in Japan, you'll be able to watch it first thing in the morning at 9am. There will be a pre-show starting half an hour earlier than the above times, if you wish to tune in at that time.
Look no further than the top of this page, where we're hosting a Game Awards live stream from Youtube (the stream will automatically go live for the 7:30 PM ET pre-show). However, there are other sites that host it, including Tic, Facebook Live, and Twitter.
