All Apple Stores outside of Greater China recently closed "until further notice" in order to combat the global COVID-19 pandemic. Although the step is very effective in "flattening the curve", it creates many problems for users who want to have their Apple devices repaired. Below, some alternative options are discussed to get your product repaired until your nearest Apple store reopens.
Although your nearest Apple Store may be closed, a nearby Apple Authorized Repair Center may be open and operating. The difference between an Apple Authorized Repair Center and a general computer repair store is that the former is officially authorized by Apple and has official Apple parts to repair your device. Thus, it is always recommended to go for an authorized repair center if you are unable to reach an official Apple Store.
If you send your device to Apple using the method described above, Apple should automatically ship it back to you once repairs are complete. But what if you had already left your device in an Apple Store to have it repaired? You'll have to wait for the Apple Store to reopen, as noted by Apple on its Store Closings FAQ page.
Likewise, if you purchased a new device in the past few days and wish to return it within the 14-day return window, Apple will accept the return up to 14 days after retail stores reopen.
We hope you found the tips above helpful if you need to get your Apple devices repaired. As always, we recommend that you first attempt to repair your devices yourself (such as performing an iPhone battery test, fixing overheating issues, etc.) before contacting Apple.
